In his regular column for InStore magazine’s November issue, the President of the Economic Chamber and Chief Executive Officer of GS1 Macedonia, Branko Azeski, writes about the fact that “at a time when global chains and international brands are expanding at unprecedented speed, domestic companies face a serious challenge in the retail sector: to sell products that will position them above imported goods—not because they are local, but because they prove themselves through quality and price. However, for this to truly be the case, results must stem from a combination of trust, freshness, cultural closeness, and economic logic. In a market filled with imported alternatives, the Macedonian consumer must recognize the quality of local products and reaffirm that choice every day.”
