Jankoski on Business Club: Greater Affirmation of Successful Macedonian Businesspeople is Needed

03/12/2024

In the premiere episode of the podcast Business Club, the President of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia, Branko Azeski, speaks with Ivo Jankoski, owner of the production company Treto Uvo (Third Ear), a figure who has left a lasting mark on Macedonian culture and the music industry. During the discussion, Jankoski, who is also the creator and producer of the Business Club series, emphasized that the podcast aims to highlight Macedonian businesspeople who, despite their significant achievements, often remain on the fringes of the media scene.

"We have people who successfully run businesses both domestically and internationally, contribute to the Macedonian GDP, employ thousands of people, and drive the economy forward. Yet, unfortunately, they rarely receive media visibility. We wanted to create content that would contrast scandals and negative news. That’s how the idea was born to produce engaging digital media content that affirms such young and successful entrepreneurs and stands apart from content filled with crime reports, scandals, and personalities with little meaningful to say," Jankoski stated.

Ivo Jankoski is a graduate economist but is best known as a producer, manager, publisher, and promoter. He founded Macedonia's first independent record label, Treto Uvo. In his conversation with Azeski, Jankoski discusses the challenges of Macedonia’s music industry, comparing it to global music developments and trends. He also shares the inception and collaboration with Leb i Sol, Vlatko Stefanovski, Anastasia, Kiril Djaikovski, and Vanja Lazarova. Additionally, he reflects on the Balkan Music Square event and the founding of M2 Production, which has discovered numerous new talents.

Why the Economic Chamber?

The Business Club series is a joint project of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia and Treto Uvo. According to Jankoski, the Chamber is a natural partner for this venture, as it represents the unifying force of the Macedonian business sector:

"The Chamber is the place where the main economic currents originate, where the challenges faced by the business sector are addressed, and where new ideas are born to develop a positive business climate," Jankoski explained.

The Role of Branko Azeski

As the host of the podcast, Azeski brings a wealth of experience and vision:

"He is a person with extensive experience, a deep understanding of business and economic conditions in our country, and a clear grasp of the ordeals our companies have faced in paving the way for the Macedonian economy. Azeski is widely known and recognized by the business community, both locally and internationally, and is someone with the most business connections in the country and beyond."
