At the initiative of the company Teksomak from Prilep, a working meeting was held at the Prilep Regional Chamber with companies from the city that generate textile waste. The meeting was opened by the President of the Regional Chamber in Prilep, Nikola Marinovski.
The discussion focused on the current situation in textile waste management and the newly emerged issue regarding its acceptance by the Public Utility Company “Komunalec” Prilep, which at present holds only a license for mixed municipal waste. The aim was to assess the situation, clarify legal obligations, and define coordinated steps for efficient handling in the upcoming period. In order to explore possibilities for storing textile and other types of waste and their baling, institutional communication with the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning and with PUC “Komunalec” Prilep will be intensified.
During the meeting, the companies proposed several operational models that also envisage appropriate adjustments in the procedures of the public utility enterprise and collective waste operators. These proposals will be further elaborated in the coming period, with the objective of reducing costs for companies, ensuring compliance with legal regulations, and enabling more efficient management of waste streams.
