The time has come to discuss achieving double the current economic growth, but for that to happen, a social consensus on the key issues facing the country is necessary and essential.
For the business sector, infrastructure is the most important factor—specifically, ensuring the normal functioning of businesses that drive the economy. This is why the swift completion of the ongoing road and railway construction projects— the lifeline of Macedonia, as they are everywhere in the world— is crucial. Their completion will mean faster transport of goods and increased exports abroad. These projects have been awaited for too long, and the latest announcements suggest that they will soon be finalized. Our neighbors have long been ahead of us, especially Kosovo, which has already completed its highway to the Macedonian border.
For the state, the priorities must be boosting exports, supporting innovation, and investing in education, as these are the foundations of a society’s progress.
