“In a time of rapid change, technological skills are essential, and every person will have to possess them—regardless of formal education—in order to contribute and prosper in society,” said Toni Jankovski, MSc, Product Development and Innovation Director at Diners Club Macedonia - Skopje, in the latest edition of the Business Club podcast with Branko Azeski.

According to him, digitalization is an inevitable process, one that younger generations adopt far more easily and quickly, and which shapes its mode of functioning around digital tools.

As a representative of the younger generation, when asked about the reasons why young people emigrate, Jankovski explained their motivation for moving abroad: the desire for an easier and faster path to success; opportunities for easy earnings and remote work; avoiding difficult situations and negotiations; and completing tasks with minimal effort—something that work abroad often enables.

During the conversation, Jankovski highlighted three key changes he would make for the country’s development: 1) Reforms in education by following modern trends; 2) Establishing values based on experience, knowledge, and professionalism—free from political influence—and rewarding success based on results; and 3) Forecasting and planning for the coming years according to achieved outcomes.

In an era of rapid technological advancement and digitalization, when asked where he sees his company in ten years, Jankovski emphasized that the future lies in digitalizing processes, using AI, and providing services that are available 24/7—without human error, but always with human oversight.

“Technology does not mean replacing people—it means retraining and upskilling them to use it. Technological literacy is necessary to effectively utilize the tools available and to control them,” Jankovski stressed.

He added that it is essential to ensure a secure system of operation as well as adherence to regulations and standards, with the goal of protecting the data handled in line with his company’s activities.

Later in the podcast, as a member of the Management Board of the Economic Chamber, Jankovski assessed the Management Board as:

“A serious functional body with strong representation of the business sector and various branches of industry, where open discussion takes place and real problems are solved. Its members are accomplished individuals who have built something, but who are still in the process of developing their companies and their own stories. There is a critical mass for meaningful work,” said Toni Jankovski.

As part of this body, Jankovski noted that he works on: 1) Retaining labor and training them already during university studies, so they can be integrated into work processes upon graduation; 2) applying expertise and using external contacts for positive experiences and investments; and 3) accelerating digitalization and networking among businesses.
