At the panel discussion “The Power of Structured Data,” Tatjana Davchev, Director of Legal Affairs and Compliance at Iute Macedonia, opened new perspectives on how structured data, automation, and integration with electronic money and payment services institutions are already transforming operations: faster decision-making, improved real-time monitoring, and broader financial inclusion across the region.
She emphasized that despite accelerated digitalization, significant challenges remain — from regulatory harmonization to the ethical use of data and low financial and digital literacy. Companies with strong corporate governance and high ethical standards are the ones that will set the pace and establish the benchmarks.
In the panel discussion, Davchev stressed that responsible lending is a core value. Machine learning and data-driven science are not merely technological tools — they enable the making of credit decisions that are both ethical and sustainable. “We are already seeing results: better client segmentation, higher-quality portfolios, and improved on-time repayment rates. This is not about following technological trends, but about using technology responsibly to create better services, greater trust, and a more inclusive financial ecosystem,” Davchev noted.
