Meeting of the ICT Association – Priorities and Directions for Action in the Upcoming Period Reviewed

The newly appointed Management Board of the Association of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) at the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia held a meeting on 6 November 2025, during which several important issues of interest to the ICT sector and its further development were discussed.

The members of the Association were informed about the identified problems in the implementation of the 2025 Operational Plan of the Employment Agency of the Republic of North Macedonia (AVRSM), related to training programs aimed at upgrading digital competencies and creating a workforce equipped with applicable ICT skills.

Companies expressed their concern about the failure to implement the trainings intended to upgrade the skills of nearly 500 unemployed individuals in the field of information technology at basic and advanced levels, a situation that may jeopardize the enhancement of their competitiveness and their faster integration into the labor market.

The Association will continue to actively cooperate with relevant institutions to improve the quality and availability of such programs, as well as to align them with the needs of the ICT industry and the labor market.

During the meeting, a constructive discussion was held regarding the priorities and directions of action for the Association in the upcoming period. The 2026 Activity Plan of the ICT Association will include initiatives related to digital transformation, support for innovation, development of ICT workforce, improvement of public–private dialogue, and the application of digital tools in the private sector through the establishment of a Digital Economy Council.

The Association remains committed to strengthening the ICT sector as a key driver of economic growth and the country’s digital competitiveness.
