Mihajlo Borozanov, MBA, on Business Club: The Members of the Chamber’s Management Board Are Fulfilled Professionals Dedicated to the Community

20/10/2025

Mihajlo Borozanov, MBA, Director of Finance and Member of the Management Board of Makpetrol AD Skopje, as well as a representative of the younger generation within the Management Board of the Economic Chamber, shared his perspectives in the latest episode of the Business Club podcast with Branko Azeski. He spoke about the composition of the Chamber’s Management Board, the work of the Chamber’s Professional Service, the role of professional staff, and financial policy.

“The members of the Management Board of the Economic Chamber are professionals who are fulfilled by their work, eager to contribute to the community and to accelerate progress in the direction we all strive for,” said Borozanov.

When asked about the challenges within the financial system, he highlighted that the biggest problem remains the persistence of paper-based operations. However, he noted that digitalization has brought significant improvements compared to previous years. According to Borozanov, a clear approach is essential in all activities: 1) Actions should always be viewed through the lens of business; 2) Every process must have a solid financial foundation; and 3) The outcome should deliver measurable financial results that justify the invested effort.

“Otherwise, the work itself would be meaningless,” he added.

The conversation then turned to the expertise and knowledge of professionals in the country. Borozanov reminded that Macedonia has always had high-quality professionals, respected even abroad, but unfortunately, their potential today is not being fully utilized.

President Azeski cited as an example Mr. Andreja Josifovski, President of the Management Board of Makpetrol AD Skopje, who built his professional reputation in London during the 1990s. He took over the company at a time when Makpetrol had lost its monopoly on the domestic market and, through successful management, managed to keep it among the top Macedonian companies by total revenue. This proved that Makpetrol can compete on equal footing with major players in the energy market.

In conclusion, when asked about the survival and future of the country, Mihajlo Borozanov, MBA, stated: “The most patriotic act is to stay here, to create here, to build value here, and to pay taxes here.”
