Yesterday, 9 September 2025, the Economic Chamber hosted a working meeting with the French company Bouygues. Senior representatives of the company expressed Bouygues’ interest and readiness to participate in the construction of major infrastructure projects in Macedonia, such as railway development and medical centers.
With a diverse portfolio in the sectors of construction, energy, telecommunications, and media, an annual turnover exceeding 50 billion euros, and 200,000 employees in more than 80 countries worldwide, Bouygues brings with it extensive experience, knowledge, and credibility. For this reason, the Economic Chamber expressed its support and assistance to the company in initiating activities in Macedonia.
The meeting was hosted by the Business Club for Cooperation with France and Francophone Countries. In the presence of the French Ambassador H.E. Christophe Le Rigoleur and the regional representative, Head of the Regional Economic Department for the Western Balkans based in Belgrade, Pierre Grangeon, several other initiatives for cooperation with French companies were also discussed. For October, a regional France–Western Balkans Business Forum has been announced in Belgrade, where Macedonian companies have been invited to participate.
During the meeting, the Economic Chamber and the Embassy of France in the RN Macedonia discussed opportunities for deepening economic cooperation, improving trade between the two countries, and encouraging direct investment. The President of the Chamber, Branko Azeski, emphasized that there is significant potential for joint projects, and that French companies can consider the Chamber and the Business Club as their partner in Macedonia.
The Chamber is actively working to create a favorable business climate, streamline administrative procedures, and connect French companies with domestic partners.
“French companies bring innovation, expertise, and EU standards that are essential for the development of our economy,” said Branko Azeski, President of the Economic Chamber. “We are here to support them through consultations, business forums, and concrete partnerships.”
