In a morning show interview on Telma TV, Prof. Dr. Darko Lazarov, President of the Exporters’ Club at the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia, highlighted that global economic conditions, influenced by trade and protectionist measures, are not favorable for Macedonian exports. However, he emphasized that Macedonian exporting companies are resilient and will overcome the challenges posed by the global trade war.
Coordinated steps from all stakeholders in the export ecosystem are necessary, and this can be achieved through the National Export Council as a mechanism for public-private dialogue between the Government and the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia on export-related issues.
In the past period, the Chamber, through the concept of export based on the National Export Council, the Exporters’ Club, and the Export Institute, has established its institutional capacities to provide professional, technical, organizational, and logistical support for Macedonian export-oriented companies. The Exporters’ Club is already working on organizing the participation of its members in several international fairs and B2B events, while the Export Institute has operationalized its plan, which includes organizing specialized training for exporters, conducting market analyses and strategies for entering new markets, and providing technical support for the implementation of international quality standards.
All of this will help companies overcome global challenges while also creating new opportunities for Macedonian businesses to increase their presence in regional and international markets, Lazarov noted.
Finally, Professor Lazarov stressed that building export competitiveness, increasing export promotion, and reducing trade barriers are the key issues that the Economic Chamber, together with the Government of the RNM, will actively work on through the National Export Council.
