In the latest episode of the Business Club podcast, hosted by Branko Azeski, President of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia, the guest is Angel Angjushev, a mechanical engineer and Chief Operating Officer of the Green Machines factory at Brako, the world’s first producer of electric street sweepers. Representing the younger generation of businesspeople, Angel Angjushev states that the era of his parents’ generation is waning and that the younger generation must assume greater responsibility in business.
The discussion with Angel Angjushev focuses on the green agenda and the need for restructuring production within companies to develop new products and services with added value—an objective the Economic Chamber has pursued for years.
"If we want to create some level of prosperity in Macedonia, if we want to create better conditions for employees to earn higher wages and generate greater profits, we need to produce value-added products and services. The time when Macedonia was a destination for cheap labor and a place to produce goods at a lower cost than elsewhere has passed," Angjushev emphasizes.
"To achieve a green transition, investments must be made in technologies capable of replacing conventional ones in a way that makes it equally good or even better for consumers," Angjushev adds. He notes that Green Machines' electric vehicles must be more cost-effective for buyers than conventional machines due to their lower operational and maintenance costs.
Angel Angjushev pursued his education at the University of Applied Sciences in Aachen, Germany, and the University of Technology in Vienna, Austria. After graduating, he joined the family business, starting his career as a production engineer in the Wire Products Department at Brako (part of the Feroinvest Group). He was responsible for installing, commissioning, and operating a new production line for galvanized wire. Since 2021, he has served as Chief Operating Officer at Green Machines.
Although educated abroad, Angjushev highlights that education doesn’t end with a diploma. On the contrary, it marks the beginning of real learning. At Green Machines, he oversees a broad range of operations, including production management, procurement, development, logistics, investments, human resources, and technical support.
In his discussion with President Azeski, Angjushev underscores that companies today must produce high-tech, value-added products that the world will purchase at premium prices. This approach ensures higher profits for companies, better salaries for employees, and tax contributions to the state.
"If a company cannot keep pace with global trends and competition, it’s only a matter of time before it collapses. That’s why it’s essential for us to stay at least one step ahead of the competition. Green Machines is the first producer in the world to manufacture a hydrogen-powered vehicle," says Angjushev.
