On 20 November, the Insurance Group of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia, in collaboration with the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences at the International Balkan University (IBU), organized the second interactive educational presentation titled “Insurance Can Protect You, But Only If You Know How” for IBU students.

This event follows the initial collaboration between the Insurance Group and IBU in April 2024, which featured the first session titled “Learn How Insurance Protects Us Today and Secures Us Tomorrow.” The primary aim is to raise awareness and promote financial literacy, education, and financial inclusion among IBU students.

The session at IBU covered topics such as innovation in insurance, the social benefits of insurance, better understanding of insurance products and services, risk management techniques, and how to make insurance an appealing career path for IBU students.

Students gained valuable insights and engaged in discussions about the insurance sector in Macedonia with proven professionals from the industry. These experts, equipped with extensive practical experience and knowledge, shared the far-reaching effects, opportunities, and challenges stemming from the rapid growth of the insurance sector in the country.

Speakers included representatives from four prestigious insurance companies, all members of the Insurance Group of the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia:

• Ralica Guberova, Executive Director of EUROINS Insurance and President of the Insurance Group of the Economic Chamber
• Vesna Gjorcheva, Board Member of MACEDONIA Insurance, Vienna Insurance Group
• Aleksandra Shkembi Antovska, Executive Director of UNIQA Life Macedonia and Vice President of the Insurance Group of the Economic Chamber
• Goran Bozhinovski, Manager of the Croatia Insurance – Life Academy, CROATIA Insurance – Life, Skopje

To strengthen future collaboration, the dean and academic staff of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences concluded the event by discussing upcoming activities and further cooperation between the Insurance Group and the International Balkan University.
