The Economic Chamber of North Macedonia successfully held its first training on Business Integrity in Prilep, as part of the Citizens Against Corruption project, which is supported by the American people through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID).
Representatives from various companies and industries in Prilep and the region attended the training to learn about best practices and strategies for business integrity. The sessions covered topics such as establishing an integrity system, understanding relevant international and EU regulations, and implementing measures to prevent and combat corruption. Participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences and examine real-life examples that can aid them in fostering an ethical business environment within their companies. Additionally, the training presented tools for implementing effective business ethics and integrity programs, enabling companies to manage risks and introduce systems for corruption prevention.
The sessions were led by experts from two Macedonian companies, Alkaloid AD Skopje and Makedonski Telekom AD Skopje, which have significant experience in implementing business integrity systems. At the end of the training, each participating company received a certificate of participation and electronic materials with further information on establishing an integrity system in their operations.
The training in Prilep is the first in a series of events that the Economic Chamber plans to organize in multiple cities in the coming period, aiming to promote a culture of integrity in the private sector. These initiatives are part of the Chamber's broader commitment to developing business ethics and promoting business integrity, which brings significant benefits to companies and creates a competitive advantage in the market. Companies that uphold principles of integrity and transparency not only strengthen their internal operations but also increase their credibility with customers, partners, and investors. Establishing a high level of business integrity is essential for the entire supply chain companies work with, contributing to long-term success and the sustainability of their operations.
The Citizens Against Corruption program is led by the Macedonian Center for International Cooperation, with the Economic Chamber of North Macedonia as a key partner in the project, focusing on fostering a culture of integrity and corporate responsibility within the private sector.
