The socialization and adaptation of students to a real work environment—where they practically apply theoretical knowledge and hone their skills—are among the main hallmarks of dual education. For companies, this model represents an asset, offering the opportunity to prepare future employees according to their organizational structure and the requirements of their work processes. Placing the right people in the right jobs is crucial for successful operations and increasing productivity.
Dual education has become a reality for companies, where awareness is steadily growing that cooperation with vocational schools and accepting students for practical education are only part of the process. To achieve this objective, companies are also engaging in the development of educational curricula for acquiring qualifications and in setting quality assurance standards for work-based learning.
This entails providing specialized staff—a practical education mentor who will adapt the work environment for learning and work with the students—as well as the verification of the employer. Verification confirms that the company meets the spatial, operational, and occupational safety standards and possesses the appropriate equipment, machinery, and tools for conducting practical training.
The Economic Chamber of North Macedonia contributes to quality assurance by implementing both processes: organizing training sessions for mentor certification and verifying that employers fulfill the conditions for practical education. In the forthcoming period, aimed at meeting the indicators of the Reform Agenda, the Chamber will continue to actively execute these processes.
To date, the following employers have received confirmation of meeting the requirements for the practical education and training of students: Magna Mechatronics, Shtip; Bulmak, Probishtip – Zletovo Mine Branch; Bulmak, Probishtip – Toranica Mine Branch, Kriva Palanka; Public Health Center, Kochani; Public Utility Company Vodovod, Kochani; Agency for Real Estate Cadastre, Skopje; Power Plants of North Macedonia – REK Bitola Branch and REK Oslomej Branch, Kichevo; Makprogres, Vinica – Hotel Restaurant Aleksandar Park Branch and Hotel Central Branch, Vinica; Geing, Skopje; Merian As, Skopje; Korona Dushko, Negotino; Stradun, Skopje; Florakom, Skopje; Public Enterprise Parks and Greenery, Skopje; Proximus, Skopje; Deni International, Skopje; Kromberg & Schubert, Skopje; Dräxlmaier, Kavadarci; Vardar Dolomit, Gostivar; Attorney Perica Spasoski, Kumanovo; Health Center, Kriva Palanka, and others.
