A key prerequisite for a country's economic development is its economic infrastructure, which affects both business opportunities and the overall attractiveness of the country as a place to work and invest. Infrastructure projects stimulate not only the construction sector but also numerous related industries, while contributing to GDP growth. For this reason, infrastructure and investment are among the key policy positions advocated by the Chamber and highlighted in the book WOULD MACEDONIA HAVE LOOKED DIFFERENT IF SOME OF THE CHAMBER’S PROPOSALS HAD BEEN ACCEPTED?
Through its construction sector, the Chamber advocates for the inclusion of domestic construction companies in the implementation of Corridors VIII and X under the same conditions as foreign contractors. Only in this way can favorable conditions be created for increasing competitiveness and ensuring a fair distribution of projects, which would improve the economic position of domestic companies and enable a greater contribution of the local construction sector to these major infrastructure projects.
