On 14 May, a working meeting was held at the Ministry of Finance between State Secretary Andriana Matlioska and the Presidency of the Association of Non-Banking Financial Companies, led by Nikola Joshevski. The meeting focused on the current challenges faced by financial companies, as well as the opportunities for their further growth and development.

The regulator emphasized that, in the upcoming period, efforts will be made to improve the legal framework in order to create additional opportunities in line with EU directives. It was also announced that the supervisory function will continue to be strengthened. In the previous period, the Ministry of Finance conducted several off-site and on-site inspections, the results of which are expected in the coming months.

Both parties agreed that the advertising of financial companies must be accurate, transparent, and comprehensive, without elements that could mislead clients or rely on wordplay.

Additionally, it was concluded that the professional approach in the loan collection process needs to be improved, with the aim of ensuring appropriate client protection through the establishment of higher professional responsibility and fair treatment of clients.

The Presidency of the Association informed the regulator that the next MICROBALKANS conference will be held in Skopje from 24 to 26 September 2026. The host and organizer of the conference will be the Association of Non-Banking Financial Companies within the Economic Chamber. The main objective of the conference is to encourage and support the development of a comprehensive and inclusive financial system in the region. This includes improving access to financing for small and medium-sized enterprises, expanding digital financial services, and stimulating the economic development of the Balkans.
