The economy in Macedonia now has significant experience, considering that since 2008 the country has been continuously facing some form of crisis. We have been in a tense situation for a prolonged period. We launched the measures in a timely manner and expect to keep the situation under control, stated the President of the Economic Chamber, Branko Azeski, in the program “Topic of the Day” (Tema na denot) on MTV.
Together with the Government, we have a set of measures planned for at least one month, and we hope we will manage the situation. For the past three to four weeks, we have been in constant coordination, jointly designing these measures.
Extreme caution is required with excise duties and VAT. At a later stage, the use of commodity reserves could also be considered, while another option is freezing prices of both input components and consumer components, which could help stabilize the situation.
